Scrap Collectors/Fly Tipping

Householders have been given official warnings and could be fined heavily.  Their “crime” was to give scrap collectors, who called at the door, their varied waste.  Some of this was then dumped by the roadside, obviously the stuff that wouldn’t be worth any money.  The original owners were then traced and they are considered liable for the fly tipping. Please follow advice below in order to be lawful.

“To check if someone is a registered waste carrier, all you need to do is ask to see their Waste Carrier’s License. If they cannot produce it, do not allow them to take your waste. You can also check to see if they are a registered waste carrier, by looking on the Environment Agency’s public register”
